Functional description
When the water passes through the filter medium, the positively charged hardness-forming ions are exchanged for sodium.
Since the filter medium is not ion-selective, other positively charged ions can also be handled, depending on the affinity of the ion. Once the water has had the required contact time, soft water is obtained that can also be diluted with raw water to achieve the desired water hardness.
Once the filter medium is saturated, it is regenerated with a saline solution, and the filter returns to full functionality.
The filter’s combined cabinet accommodates both the filter vessel and salt tank, which therefore requires less space.
The filter is fully automatic and is available in a time- or volume-controlled version.
