Functional description

When water containing radon enters the oxidation chamber, the water is heavily oxygenated by means of the air injector. This, together with a well-designed distributor, results in a very extensive contact area between the air and water, ensuring that the radon progeny move towards the surrounding air.

Because the air injector creates overpressure in the radon aerator, the radon-contaminated air is expelled outdoors via a ventilation duct without a ventilation fan.

Since oxygenation of the water is so great, it also leads to oxidation of tricky gases, such as methane, and lighter gases, such as hydrogen sulphide. The carbonic acid is also neutralised and converted into a carbonate that raises the pH of the water.
