Functional description
When water passes through the filter medium, which is charged with sodium chloride (NaCI), the sodium chloride replaces the nitrate ions to provide nitrate-free water.
The filter medium eventually becomes saturated, after which it is regenerated. The filter medium is then recharged with sodium chloride. How often the filter needs to be regenerated depends on water characteristics as well as water consumption.
