Functional description
Reverse osmosis (RO) is completely chemical-free.
The water is purified by being forced parallel to the surface of a semipermeable membrane that is permeable to water but not to larger molecules.
Unwanted ions such as salt, fluoride, nitrites and nitrates are retained by the membrane and discharged into the drain. On the other side of the membrane, a permeate (the purified water) is obtained. It is pre-filtered via a sediment filter.
There are built-in pressure switches to prevent dry running as well as for high pressure. A level switch is available when the filter is run towards a low water reservoir.
