Functional description
The water passes through the filter medium, which absorbs uranium.
To agitate the filter medium and prevent channel formation, the medium is backwashed after specific intervals. How often this takes place depends on the water characteristics as well as the estimated water consumption.
The filter media are replaced once the filter medium has reached its degree of saturation.
