Functional description
When the water passes through the macroporous anion exchanger, the negatively charged humus substances are effectively separated via the ion exchange.
Since the filter medium is not ion-selective, other negatively charged ions can also be handled, depending on the affinity of the ions.
Once the water has had the required contact time, the water obtained is humus-free. On reaching saturation, the filter medium is regenerated using a saline solution and the filter returns to full functionality. The filter medium can also be mixed with other ion-exchange materials where positively charged ions can also be handled.
The filter is fully automatic and is available in a time- or volume-controlled version.
If the raw water is very alkaline, released carbonic acid (CO2) will need to be neutralised via a subsequent deacidification filter.
